Season of Compassion
Every November and December, Dream City Church makes an extra effort to bless people in our church and in the community. During this Season of Compassion, we have many opportunities for you to give and to get involved. Below is a brief description of Dream City Church’s Season of Compassion events. Click on the event name for more information on the event and for details about how you can partner with us to bring a smile to someone’s face this Thanksgiving and Christmas season.
Season of Compassion Action Team
Wednesday, November 29th @ 6:30pm
The Celebration of Christmas (COC) is our largest outreach of the year, and we would love to have your help. Volunteers will be helping the COC team within areas that they feel strongest in. We will have a special Action Team training on Wednesday, Nov. 29th at the Phoenix Campus at 6:30pm after service.
The Compassion Trees program is designed to help make the season a little brighter for our church family. Participation is easy – simply visit the Compassion Trees at the HUB and choose a tag. Each tag displayed has a different number on the outside, corresponding to the dollar amount you would like to give.
Care Center Christmas Gift Bags
We are reaching out to people in group homes, nursing homes, care centers, V.A. hospitals, the State Hospital, and special needs facilities with Christmas Gift Bags. This outreach ministry brings the love of Jesus to those who may have forgotten. You can help by donating items or help assemble gift bags. To donate, simply place items in the bins at the HUB. You are also invited to join us on Nov 29 at 10:00 am in the Main Auditorium to help assemble bags.
On Saturday, December 2nd, starting at 7:00 am, hundreds of volunteers and community groups will be gathering at the Phoenix, Glendale, and Scottsdale campuses to help us assemble over 1,500 bicycles to give to families in need within our Dream City Church community. This is a great opportunity to give back!
Celebration of Christmas Special Night
We need volunteers starting at 5:30pm to help with the Special COC night for the care centers and special needs guests. Volunteers will help unload the elderly from buses, help them find seats, maneuver wheelchairs, and walkers and keep groups together. If interested, email Pastor Sharon at firstname.lastname@example.org.
