If we’re honest, sometimes we wonder why God doesn’t give us everything we need right away. We know He is able to. God gives us so much… wouldn’t it have been just as easy for Him to include a few more provisions?

Why is college so expensive? Why is my marriage on the rocks? A little more success at work doesn’t seem like too much to ask. And, for goodness sake, is all this cellulite really necessary?

But we are usually missing the point entirely. God didn’t overlook anything; He didn’t forget a few practical details. God is not aiming at our comfort, He wants us to learn to trust in Him more and turn to Him. In other words, God wants us to pray.

Jesus said, “Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. 8 For everyone who asks receives, and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks it will be opened. Or which one of you, if his son asks him for bread, will give him a stone? 10 Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a serpent? 11 If you then, who are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask him!” (Mathew 7:7).

Does prayer really work?

When we face troubles, our immediate temptation is to try and find a good, practical solution. Praying seems like a feeble swing at massive problems–not a reliable answer.

But prayer is the whole point.

Psalm 33 says, “The war horse is a false hope for salvation, and by its great might it cannot rescue. Behold, the eye of the Lord is on those who fear him, on those who hope in his steadfast love.”

We could rephrase that in today’s terms by saying, “Money, power, politics, weapons, possessions, and the best doctors in the world are a false hope… they cannot rescue you!” Everything that seems like a sure answer to our human eyes is nothing apart from God’s grace.

Yes, God often uses these things in bringing about answers to our prayers, but prayer is the engine and the vehicle.

God wants us to ask Him!

At Dream City Church, we like to dream big! Agree in Prayer is a prayer initiative that can be the means of bringing joy, peace, and real answers in the midst of darkness. Prayer brings healing, redemption, and reconciliation where least expected.

Prayer can change the world

Starting this January, Let’s Agree in Prayer:

At Dream City, we are thrilled to be launching our software, “Agree In Prayer.” This revolutionary tool effectively streamlines prayer requests. There are two ways you can be a part of this powerful prayer movement:

  • Pray for others

Do you feel called to pray for those who are hurting or experiencing significant trials? Be a part of a deeply powerful ministry that can help change the lives of others and the world. When we pray with, and for others, God has promised to be with us. Click here to sign up and become a prayer partner!

Again, I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything you ask for, it will be done for you by my Father in heaven. For where two or three come together in my name, there am I with them.”

– MATTHEW 18:19-20

  • Submit prayer requests

Right now, maybe you are facing something difficult and just need prayers from a community of people who will gather around you in spirit and lift you up to the Lord. If so, we’ve got your back. Click here to submit your prayer requests

Once you have “Submitted a Prayer Request,” you can still keep in touch in these three ways:

  • At the end of each week, you will receive a notification about how many people have prayed for you. It’s extremely encouraging to know that there are people gathering alongside you in spirit who are regularly praying for you!
  • At the end of each month, you can notify the “Agree in Prayer” team that your prayer has been answered or resubmit your prayer request.
  • If the prayer has been answered, you can choose to submit a “Praise Report.”

Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your request to God.”

– PHILIPPIANS 4:6
