A Soldier's Story

A World War II veteran was once quoted saying, “Many people view us as heroes for doing what we did! I don’t view it that way. We were soldiers. We were just carrying out orders.” We non-military types struggle with statements like that. Most of us are very cautious of authority structures, we try to avoid them like the plague. We don’t take orders very well, we don’t know much about the discipline of followership. Ask anyone who's been in the military and they’ll tell you that the backbone of the military is respect for authority, the carrying out of orders & a reverence for the discipline of followership. With that backdrop in mind, we look at Matthew 8:5-11 and how to become a Just Say The Word Follower Of Jesus Christ!
